In the autumn of 2007, a phone call came that transformed our lives completely. At that time, we were just a few months shy of our tenth wedding anniversary. For almost five years, we had been striving to start a family, going through various infertility treatments. Doubts started creeping in, making us wonder if we would ever realize our dream of becoming parents. We had shed tears, prayed fervently, and pleaded with God.
