West Virginia Radio Corporation

West Virginia Radio Corporation

West Virginia Radio Corporation began its journey in 1940 when Agnes and Herbert Greer launched WAJR-AM in Morgantown, West Virginia. At that time, the Greers also owned the Morgantown Dominion-Post newspaper and the Greer Limestone Company. The station's call letters, WAJR, were inspired by Mrs. Greer's maiden name, Agnes Jane Reeves.
