About two decades into his extensive career in local television news, Jamey Tucker created “What the Tech?” The inspiration struck him during a slow news day in Nashville. He recalled, “Every story fell through.” The producers eventually told him, “Just go find something for the 4:30 newscast.” Coincidentally, that was the day Verizon launched its first iPhone. Jamey managed to get one and compared it to the iPhone from AT&T. The following day, he received a flood of emails from viewers eager for more information about the phones.
