WKSU-FM (Kent, OH)
WKSU-FM (89.7 FM), known as 89.7 WKSU, is a non-profit educational radio station based in Kent, Ohio. It primarily serves the Akron and Canton metropolitan areas but also reaches a large part of Greater Cleveland and 22 counties in Northeast Ohio through a translator and four full-power repeaters. Owned by Kent State University, WKSU-FM features a blend of public radio programming and classical music. It acts as the local affiliate for NPR, American Public Media, and Public Radio International. In addition to its standard analog broadcasts, WKSU-FM offers four HD Radio channels and has an online presence. The main studios are located on the Kent State University campus, while the transmitter is situated in Copley. WKSU-FM also operates recording studios at the Cultural Center for the Arts in Canton, downtown Akron, and in Cleveland.
