Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–The Kenosha Unified School District has finalized its Third Friday enrollment count, showing a total of 18,522 students, a decrease of 348 from last year’s count of 18,870. This count, required by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction each September, helps determine the district’s state funding and tax revenue for the year. In December 2023, KUSD had projected an enrollment of 18,546, expecting a decline of 324 students.

Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–A Kenosha County judge has rejected a request to drop charges against a former Kenosha Unified teacher accused of sending inappropriate messages to a student. Christian J. Enwright, facing 22 counts of disorderly conduct, is alleged to have sent hundreds of Snapchat messages to a student while teaching at K-Tech. Enwirght’s defense argued that the charges were too broad, but the judge ruled that disorderly conduct covers a wide range of actions.

Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–A Chicago man will not stand trial this week for allegedly attempting to burn his girlfriend to death. 37 year old Myron Bowie was scheduled to stand trial starting Monday. On-line court records show that the start of the trial was delayed until January because of evidence discovery issues connected to the case. Bowie is charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide with a domestic abuse modifier as well as multiple counts of recklessly endangering safety.
