The Pac-12 is adding Utah State as its seventh member and is in discussions with basketball powerhouse Gonzaga to also join the rebuilding conference in 2026, multiple people with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. Utah State and UNLV were the main targets for the Pac-12 after a group of American Athletic Conference schools decided to stay put. But the Mountain West was working to keep its remaining schools together and UNLV’s decision remained uncertain.

Myles Straw’s single in the sixth inning was the only hit Pallante (8-8) allowed in seven innings. Pallante walked two and struck out three. “He feels out of sync out of the windup and goes to the stretch for the rest of the game,” Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said.

Lydia Ko extended her amazing summer run when she turned a two-shot deficit into a rout by closing with a 9-under 63 to win the Kroger Queen City Championship for her third LPGA Tour title of the season. Ko won for the third time in her last four starts, which includes her Olympic gold medal that gave the 27-year-old from New Zealand enough points for the LPGA Hall of Fame. It also includes another major in the Women’s British Open, this one at St. Andrews.

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. pleaded no contest Thursday to a charge from a domestic altercation earlier this summer. Hall, 21, entered the plea to the reduced charge of disorderly conduct in Ohio’s Avon Lake Municipal Court. Judge Alison Manning handed him a 30-day suspended jail sentence, a $250 fine and two years of probation. “I regret this whole situation,” Hall said in court, according to Cleveland.com.
