WQQK-FM (Nashville, TN)

WQQK (92-Q) is an Urban Adult Contemporary FM radio station serving the Nashville, Tennessee area on the frequency of 92.1 MHz. The transmitter is located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, which is also the station's city of license, while the studios are situated in Nashville's famous Music Row. The station began its journey in the 1970s as a trailblazer for the "rock oldies" format in Nashville but later transitioned to an Urban contemporary format. Currently, it emphasizes a significant amount of rap music in its lineup, featuring mainly Old School Hip Hop in regular rotation. This is somewhat unusual for the mainly R&B and Classic Soul-focused Urban AC format, especially with competition from WUBT. Despite operating at a modest power of 3,000 watts, WQQK consistently ranks as one of the top-rated stations in the Nashville market, as reported by Arbitron. The station has been under the ownership of the Dickey family, prominent figures within Cumulus Media.
