Ethan Page def. Ricky Saints to Win the NXT North American Championship I assumed Starks would retain to set up Page getting called up to either Raw or SmackDown, but that obviously wasn't the case. The title change was a pleasant surprise, but I can definitely see the belt going right back to Saints before long. This was complete chaos from the get-go and I love the story they told with Page injuring Saints' throat and capitalizing on that to win the title. This was a hot way to kick off the show.

The Southern Six def. NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Country Gentlemen in a Blood N' Grits Street Fight I'm not sure the NWA United States Tag Team Championship wasn't on the line. Maybe so Southern Six could win without taking the titles? Regardless, this was a good hardcore match between the two teams. Hearing Silas Mason cut a promo beforehand and seeing him work reminded me that he's overdue for a significant singles push.

Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman Addressed the Audience Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed were also present in the ring with Rollins and Heyman and looked like total stars. Rollins and Heyman effectively hyped up the both of them, though I wish Rollins made it more clear as to why he recruited the man who put him on the shelf last year (and why Rollins would accept the invitation). Otherwise, this was a solid segment to start the show. Will they be known as The Vision going forward? Penta def.

Women's North American Champion Sol Ruca def. Kelani Jordan This was a rematch from last year's Heatwave event. That was Jordan's first defense of the NXT Women's North American Championship, so I liked how this was Ruca's first defense of the title and she avenged that loss here. Once again, they worked really well together and had a very enjoyable opener. These ladies are the future of WWE's women's division.

The Buy In: Harley Cameron and Anna Jay def. Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne This has been a fine feud that's played out in the undercard of women's division and it's effectively kept Bayne busy after unsuccessfully challenging Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at Dynasty. This was a fairly basic bout, but the crowd was behind the babyfaces and was happy to see them win. Ford eating the loss was logical and we'll see if that leads to any dissension between her and Bayne.
