The White House says their country is no longer dangerous for them, a contention that confounds Afghanistan watchers. LONDON — Someone set fire to the door of a house British Prime Minister Keir Starmer used to live in, and police say they've arrested a 21-year-old suspect. London's Metropolitan Police say the man was arrested early Tuesday in connection with a series of arson attacks in northern London. He remains in custody. The first fire took place Thursday last week, targeting a vehicle. The second was Sunday, with a fire at the entrance of a property associated with Starmer.

The City of New Orleans released its final draft for Lincoln Beach’s master plan, which involves four phases. The city is no longer planning a quick open this year. Instead it plans to open the beach when phase one is complete, which is estimated for late 2026 or early 2027. The city said once that happens, the beach won’t need to be closed for construction on the other phases.

A bill moving through the Louisiana Legislature would offer critical funding support to sexual assault survivor centers, which currently receive no direct state funding and are scrambling to stay open amid federal budget cuts. House Bill 163, introduced by State Rep. Kellee Dickerson, R-Denham Springs, and backed by sexual violence prevention advocates, would impose additional fines on people convicted of sexual assault and related crimes, including human trafficking, prostitution and rape.
