WTLC-AM (Indianapolis, IN)

WTLC (1310 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Owned by Urban One, it features an urban gospel format, along with some Christian talk and teaching programs during the midday and afternoon hours. The station's studios and offices are situated in downtown Indianapolis at the intersection of Meridian and St. Joseph Streets. During the day, WTLC broadcasts at a power of 5,000 watts without any directional restrictions. However, to prevent interference with other stations broadcasting on the same 1310 AM frequency, it lowers its power to 1,000 watts at night and uses a directional antenna system. This setup includes three towers that direct the signal primarily to the north-northeast, west-northwest, and east-southeast. The transmitter is located on the south side of Indianapolis, close to Troy and Sumner Avenues, near the previous studios of television station WTTV. Additionally, WTLC's programming can also be accessed via two FM translators: 92.7 W224DI and 95.1 W236CR, both operating in Indianapolis.
