Intense wildfires have been burning throughout the month of May across central Canada, with the largest of them all scorching over one-million acres in the heart of Saskatchewan province. An active weather pattern across the East Coast has steered much of this smoke away from our area in past weeks, but the smoke concentrations are now only expected to increase in the coming days.

It's the same old story, some sort of rain in the forecast just in time for the weekend. Mother Nature has put a bit of a damper on the start to the warm season here in Southern New England, making it five weekends in a row with some sort of precipitation. Weekend rainfall stats (WJAR)It's added up too, especially recently! Yesterday's weekly release of the drought monitor revealed that all of Rhode Island and Bristol County, MA have officially eliminated the D-0 drought designation.
