Temperatures will be on the rise this week as the pattern shifts and the jet stream retreats northward. Most of the week will feature above average temperatures with a few cooler days midweek. Highs Monday are expected to reach the 60s inland and 50s by the coastline with a slight breeze off the water. Late week temperatures bounce back to the 60s and are likely to reach low 70s for some on Saturday.

Unsettled weather is back in the forecast again Sunday as another low pressure system moves in from the ocean. Showers are expected to develop late tonight and pick up through the morning hours Sunday. Although some locations away from the coastline may not see much rain tomorrow, it’ll still be overcast and could feature fog at times. There may be some wet snowflakes that mix in during the midday timeframe, but are not expected to stick.

A low pressure system is expected to pass just to the south of our area and will bring a chance for rain and snow Monday morning. The precipitation starts around 3-4am Monday morning, with snow showers generally north of the Pike and rain south. The wintry mix continues through about 10am, before conditions improve for the afternoon. Any snow accumulation is expected to be concentrated to non-road surfaces and should be under 1″ in parts of Worcester and Middlesex counties.

Rain remains in the forecast on and off though Saturday night and into Sunday. Although showers should wrap up midday, clouds will linger for a few hours into the afternoon. By mid-afternoon partial sunshine is expected, and that’ll allow temperatures to hop into the mid to upper 50s. Showers return again Sunday night and could include some mixed precipitation for some going into Monday morning.

After a cold, damp weekend, some warmer weather is on the way Monday but so are thunderstorms. Monday morning will be cool with some fog around, but winds will start to pick up late morning and drive in the warmth. Temperatures Monday afternoon will reach the low to mid 60s for most under mostly cloudy skies. By the evening a cold front arrives with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
