1. IntroductionEnterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is the most prevalent bacterial pathogen causing young children to suffer acute watery diarrhea in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). This high ETEC burden results in children facing numerous diarrhea episodes, contributing to poor growth and cognitive development. ETEC also remains the leading cause of diarrhea among travelers and military personnel visiting endemic areas.
