Chances are you know someone who has been — or will be — diagnosed with breast cancer. One in eight women in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime — a statistic that may come as a surprise. With breast cancer being so prevalent, Western University and other institutions have dedicated themselves to learning more about breast cancer. October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but students should prioritize awareness and preventive action every month.
