Parents and students at Waynesville Middle will be seeing a new entrance as they head into school next year, with major changes coming to the front office area. “Essentially, what we’re going to do is create a new entrance that will go directly into the office by removing one of the current offices on the admin (administrative) hallway,” Assistant Superintendent Graham Haynes said. Currently, when someone is buzzed into the school, they enter an open lobby area.

Pisgah softball is on to the second round of the state tournament after a 7-4 win on Tuesday night. “It was a huge win,” Pisgah coach Heidi Morgan said. “We started off a little slow. They started putting the ball in play. Their one and two batters are very hard outs, very skilled lefty slappers. I feel like it got in our heads a little bit. Our energy dropped.

Despite a valiant comeback effort, the Pisgah girls’ soccer team fell 5-4 to East Henderson on senior night. “Some of the girls showed remarkable improvement,” Pisgah coach Rocky Heath said. “They played hard.”The Bears have battled the injury bug all season. The team was missing five players coming into the game, including its top two goalkeepers. The bug bit again on Monday night when Pisgah’s first goal scorer went down with an injury minutes before halftime. “Injuries happen to every team.
