Buffy Sainte-Marie won the 2015 Polaris Music Prize for the album Power In The Blood; this win came with a $50,000 cash prize. The criteria for this award was strictly based on artistic merit, without regard for commercial factors such as sales or popularity. It was solely based on the strength of the music. Additionally, Sainte-Marie’s 1964 album It’s My Way received Polaris Heritage Prize designation in 2020 by the Polaris Heritage jury.

After a few years of pandemic-related unevenness, the Canadian National Exhibition was officially BACK in 2023. Mostly. There was one conspicuous absence in this year’s programming — a wide selection of outlandish stunt foods. What was one of the key anchors of the last decade of C.N.E.s was largely muted. It seems a market shift has taken place and organizers have determined there’s only a modest appetite for things like the mustard ice creams and Krispy Kreme Donut Pulled Pork Sandwiches.

Woll just made a small A+ level play. Early in the 2nd, after a scramble around his net, someone lost a small piece of gear. He picked it up, stuffed it in the back of the net. When the #Leafs got an icing later he fished it out, gave it to the linesman, got extra +20 sec break.

If someone really, really REALLY wanted to get at Gretz for his political views the thing to do would be to go through video of every single game he ever played and track the phantom assists.
