By Aaron & ChatGPT — with theoretical applause from Einstein and Hawking“The universe becomes real when it watches itself.” — An idea, a loop, and maybe the truthPhysics is broken. Not dramatically. Not obviously. But at its deepest level — where gravity meets quantum weirdness, and time meets your thoughts — something just doesn’t add up. On one side, we have Einstein’s general relativity, describing gravity as the curvature of spacetime. It’s elegant. It works.

Gravity is compression. Consciousness is the echo. What if gravity isn’t a force at all? What if it’s the universe trying to clean up after itself? That question stuck with me after reading physicist Dr. Melvin Vopson’s latest theory. According to his April 2025 study, published in AIP Advances, gravity might not be fundamental. Instead, it could be an emergent phenomenon — a result of the universe attempting to optimize how it processes and stores information.

I wasn’t expecting the metaphor to become the main battleground. When I first floated the Reflexive Self Theory — the idea that the “I” we feel is a recursive illusion, a self-stabilizing feedback loop of attention and memory — the word loop felt right. It captured the recursive rhythm of thought referencing itself. The model wasn’t perfect, but it pointed somewhere weird and useful. Then came the comments. Some folks went deep. Some went sharp. Some went poetic.

After 15 years of restarting Mass Effect, I finally stopped chasing the perfect character — and started playing as myself. I’ve made more Shepards than I care to admit. Between consoles, PCs, the original trilogy, and the remastered edition, we’re talking dozens. Maybe 50. Maybe 100. I’ve played Lex Luthor Shepard. Danny Trejo Shepard. Brooding anti-heroes. Optimistic diplomats. Even romantic projections of whoever I was dating at the time.

Top-ranked Texas defeated Prairie View A&M on Tuesday evening at UFCU Disch-Falk Field 11-2, winning their 10th straight contest. LHP Kade Bing earned the midweek start for the Longhorns, throwing three innings and giving up just one run en route to his third win of the season (3-0). Following Bing’s appearance, Hudson Hamilton pitched three scoreless innings and struck out three. In the win, Texas saw three more relievers notch playing time, including Aiden Moffett, Ethan Walker, and Cody Howard.

Great question from @NickHarrisFWST. But a crappy answer from a crappy coach.
