With the Big Ten now including west coast teams, four plus hour flights and three hour time zone changes for road games might be a little challenging. Michigan Basketball’s team seemed to adjust well as they spent several days out in California this week for games against USC and UCLA and came out winners in both of them. Last night’s contest against the UCLA Bruins was the second game of the leg.

While the football team is in sunny Tampa, Florida preparing for their bowl game against Alabama, the basketball team took care of business routing Western Kentucky at home to go 10-3 on the season. The WKU Hilltoppers traveled up to Ann Arbor Sunday for a night game but played without two of their starters, senior forward Babacar Faye and graduate guard Khristian Lander, both out with injuries and as it turns out Western Kentucky could have definitely used them.

It’s only fitting that Rapper Kash Doll would choose to kick off her ‘The Last Doll’ tour in the city where she grew up. And her hometown fans showed up for her selling out the Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit. Over 3,000 fans to be exact came out in the cold to show their love for the artist in her first headlining tour of her ten year career. The show opened with performances by two other local female rappers, Detroit Barbie who was followed by Detroit Diamond.

Looking for their sixth straight victory after winning the Ft. Myers Tip Off tournament last week, Michigan’s matchup against the No. 11 ranked Wisconsin Badgers served to tell a lot about the program.

ThorntonIn a season that has seen its ups and downs, the Michigan Wolverines achieved eligibility to play in a post-season bowl game with their sixth win over the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday. Northwestern has not had the best year themselves, coming into the game with a 4-6 record, but Michigan knew they would have to play a game limiting their turnovers and putting pressure on the opposing quarterback to get a victory and qualify for a bowl game.
