Hive Systems updated its password cracking benchmark suite with 12 RTX 5090 graphics cards — Nvidia's fastest and best graphics card for gaming currently, and found all twelve cards working together can break simple eight-character passwords in under 15 minutes. Hive Systems is in its 5th year of benchmarking password cracking times on GPUs; the last update they made was in 2024, featuring the RTX 4090.

The SSD review reports that Arrow Lake CPUs have a bottleneck on the PCIe lanes dedicated to motherboard M.2 slots, causing a (roughly) 2GB/s bandwidth reduction compared to previous-gen motherboards when using the fastest and Best SSDs available.

Reports of Raptor Lake instability issues have been at an all-time low since Intel released firmware updates several months ago — but they're not completely gone. Intel released microcode update 0x12F last week to fix Vmin Shift instability, an issue that was thought to have been fixed with previous microcode updates. Microcode update 0x12F is reportedly an extension of the microcode update 0x12B, and it supplements 0x12B with additional fixes that weren't covered.

Microsoft is adding even more AI to Windows 11 courtesy of a new agent that can assist users in the settings app. Microsoft announced in a Windows Experience blog post that the new AI assistant will be capable of adjusting user settings on request, including adjusting mouse precision and asking questions on how to perform specific tasks. Once it arrives, the new AI agent will be able to assist users in troubleshooting their PC and answer any questions about settings users need help adjusting.
