“It’s a ‘Renovation,’ not a ‘Restoration,’” say the new owners, describing the extraordinary undertaking to update Seattle’s once notorious “Pink Palace.” Built in 1910 and updated in 1922 by the noted Seattle architectural firm of Bebb & Gould for Elijah Grammer, a Washington State Senator from 1932-33, the home’s costly 1922 renovation added the stately staircase with bronze balustrade and enclosed the northeast terrace to become the library.
