The gunman who killed 23 people in a racist attack at an El Paso Walmart in 2019 will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history and the worst domestic terror attack on Hispanics that the country has ever seen. Patrick Crusius, 26, entered a guilty plea to capital murder and 22 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on April 21.

The El Paso Walmart mass shooter is expected to make his final court appearance before spending the rest of his life in prison. The gunman, 26-year-old Patrick Crusius, is expected to plead guilty and be sentenced to life in prison at a 9 a.m. hearing Monday, April 21, in the racially motivated mass shooting nearly six years ago at a Walmart in the Cielo Vista area of East El Paso. The hearing is open to the public, but space will be limited because of the massive number of people attending.

A Horizon City teenager claimed a threat he made about going to "shoot up the school" was "only a joke," authorities said. The 15-year-old teenager was arrested on suspicion of making a false alarm or report, Horizon City Police Department Chief Marco Vargas said in a news release. The name of the teen or the school were not released. Police responded to a report of a threat made against a school Wednesday, April 9.
