ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Sunshine has returned to Southcentral, as our marine layer is no longer with us. This will pave the way for ample sunshine and warmth throughout the day. While additional thunderstorms will be possible today across the state, it will be far less than the robust thunderstorms we saw on Tuesday. Most areas will see thunderstorm activity greatly decreasing as the week draws to a close.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Lingering thunderstorm activity west of the Alaska Range continues this morning, with lightning frequency having died down the last few hours. As these showers taper off, we’ll see additional thunderstorm development later today. ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Summer officially begins later this week, with temperatures across the state already on the rise. Several areas throughout the Interior remain under red flag warnings, fire weather concerns, and heat advisories, with locations along the Slope seeing flooding caused by snowmelt. It’s certainly a week you’ll want to remain abreast of any updates, as daily storms could pose some wildfire risks across the state.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Temperatures continue to climb across the state, as our ridge of high pressure is still with us. While rain continues out west and for areas of Southeast Alaska, the rest of the state will stay on the drier side. We’ll still see a chance for some spotty to isolated thunderstorms across the state each afternoon and evening, with a better chance through northern parts of Southcentral and the Southeastern Interior.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - The summer heat is on the climb across the state, as temperatures continue to warm each day. While most of Mainland Alaska will remain on the dry side, some spotty to isolated thunderstorms can’t be ruled out for parts of the Interior and across Southcentral. The best chance for rain to close out the week will remain confined to the west coast, Aleutians and into Southeast.

Anchorage officially saw the 3rd coldest June high on record yesterday, as we only topped out in the upper 40s. Not only is this nearly 15 degrees below average, but this fall-ish weather pattern has led to the snow line dropping across Southcentral. #akwx https://t.co/y7XB1zyMVK
