ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The rain has come to an end for most of mainland Alaska, although some spotty to isolated showers remain. While we can’t rule out a rogue thunderstorm for Southwest Alaska and areas of the Interior, we’ll see most of the rain this weekend affecting the Aleutians and Southeast Alaska. SOUTHCENTRAL:Sunny skies have made a return to Southcentral Alaska with a stretch of warmth set to build into the region through the weekend.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Light rain showers are still falling for inland areas of Southcentral Alaska as an upper-level low moves south of the Alaska Range overnight. While the rain has primarily focused on the Mat-Su, some rain showers have fallen as far south as northern parts of the Kenai Peninsula. Rain will gradually lighten up for Southcentral, with more rain expected to build into Southeast. It’s likely Southeast could see a couple of inches of rain by Sunday morning.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The low-pressure system in the Gulf of Alaska continues to weaken as it moves to the south. As a result of this, showers will be few and far between for coastal regions of Southcentral and Southeast Alaska. Further north into the Interior, an upper-level low bringing snow to the Alaska Range will drop south into Southcentral. This will lead to areas of rain and snow spreading through parts of the Mat-Su and Copper River Basin tonight into Thursday.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Lingering showers remain with us across the gulf coast region, as our area of low pressure continues to fizzle out. We’ll have rain showers the next few days, although each day will provide less coverage across the region. Further north into the Interior, isolated to scattered showers remain in the forecast, with areas near the Alaska Range expected to see some light snow or wintry mix into the night.

After a nicer weekend, clouds and rain are back in the forecast. We'll see on and off rain showers, with inland areas of Southcentral seeing peeks of sunshine later today. Rain and winds will also be expected for areas of the Interior throughout the day. https://t.co/dJdlkxGMy5

Green-up is one of the highlights of the spring season, as winter fades into summer. It's likely we'll see green-up occur for the Interior within the next week. #akwx https://t.co/OCyWxBEhe7

Like it or not, the wet weather pattern remains with us. It's been very beneficial in dampening our wildfire threat. Expect heavy rain to remain for coastal regions, with rain and snow spreading into the Interior to close out the week. #akwx https://t.co/4AMRFqUpzs
