ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Rain showers have been steadily building into Southcentral this morning, with gusty conditions still with us. Winds through the night have gusted as high as 40 mph, with ongoing winds and rain expected throughout the day. Further north into the Interior, winds could lead to some areas of blowing dust, particularly near the Alaska Range.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - While some brief breaks in cloud coverage arrived through the weekend, most locations held onto overcast skies. The persistent showery weather has been with us, with little in the way of reprieve this week. The only exception will be for areas of Southeast, which need some much needed dry time. SOUTHCENTRAL:Isolated to scattered showers remain in the forecast today, although most of the rain will remain confined to coastal regions.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Rain has returned to Southcentral, with a wet start to the morning. While not everyone is seeing the rain, we will keep showers around for most of the day. More rain is expected to build into Southeast, where landslide issues remain a concern. Meanwhile, areas out west could see some light snow accumulation and areas of blowing snow. It’s certainly an active end to May, which tends to be one of the drier months across much of the state.

Meanwhile, the Alaska Range will see higher wind speeds up to 65 mph, where a wind advisory remains in place through this afternoon. While the calendar may have us approaching June, some areas of the state are still holding onto colder weather with some snow.

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Despite the daily showers and storms, Southcentral has managed to see some sunshine each afternoon. In doing so, we managed to climb into the 60s again on Tuesday, for only the third time this month. A typical May brings about seven days with highs in the 60s, with a slim chance we could hit it again before the end of the month. SOUTHCENTRAL:Clouds are clearing across Southcentral, from the decaying showers and storms from yesterday.

After a nicer weekend, clouds and rain are back in the forecast. We'll see on and off rain showers, with inland areas of Southcentral seeing peeks of sunshine later today. Rain and winds will also be expected for areas of the Interior throughout the day. https://t.co/dJdlkxGMy5

Green-up is one of the highlights of the spring season, as winter fades into summer. It's likely we'll see green-up occur for the Interior within the next week. #akwx https://t.co/OCyWxBEhe7

Like it or not, the wet weather pattern remains with us. It's been very beneficial in dampening our wildfire threat. Expect heavy rain to remain for coastal regions, with rain and snow spreading into the Interior to close out the week. #akwx https://t.co/4AMRFqUpzs
