“Which movie would you want to smell like?” sounds like a prompt for a profile on a dating app for cinephiles. But let’s consider the question. I’d pick Top Gun over, say, Pretty Woman. A James Bond film seems like a safe bet for me—Casino Royale, perhaps, with its seductive smell of money, martinis, and Mayfair. Home Alone might smell of pine, cinnamon-apple potpourri and freshly baked sugar cookies, which would be nice this time of year.

Shelley Duvall, the actress who starred in classic films ranging from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining to Robert Altman’s live-action version of Popeye, died Thursday at her home in Blanco. She was 75. “My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us,” her longtime partner, Dan Gilroy, said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. “Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley.”Duvall died in her sleep due to complications from diabetes, Gilroy said.

Moriah “Mo” Wilson's heartbroken family and a friend spoke out in an Austin courtroom Thursday after Texas yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong was convicted earlier in the day of murdering her rival in a love triangle on May 11, 2022. Armstrong now faces up to life in prison. She sat mostly with her head down and appeared emotionless Thursday afternoon during the sentencing phase of her trial, according to NewsNation reporter Alex Caprariello.

A 12-person jury will hear closing arguments in the love triangle murder trial of Texas yoga instructor Kaitlin Armstrong, who's accused of fatally shooting her rival, pro cyclist Moriah "Mo" Wilson. Wilson was gunned down in cold-blooded fashion hours after she went to a swimming pool and a burger joint with Armstrong's live-in boyfriend in Austin on May 11, 2022.
