Carson Hocevar just can’t seem to stay out of the headlines. Of course that’s not always a bad thing for the second-year NASCAR Cup Series driver. He’s turned heads this season with a pair of second place finishes under his belt in the #77 car for Spire Motorsports. But it seems that more than we talk about his on-track success, he finds himself in the headlines for his controversies both on and off the track.

Still can’t live that one down. Of course everybody remembers Morgan Wallen‘s infamous arrest in downtown Nashville last year, when he threw a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s. The singer was originally charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and facing significant time behind bars, but ultimately pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to probation as well as seven days in a DUI education center.

I don’t know how many times we have to say it, but: Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Long before he became the Chief. Of course these days Eric Church is one of the biggest names in country music of the past two decades. He’s sold out festivals, stadiums, amphitheaters and arenas all across the country, has nearly a dozen #1 hits as both a solo and featured artist, and has served as an inspiration for an entirely new generation of country artists. But before that he was just Eric Church, a kid from Granite Falls, North Carolina.
