Jesse Eisenberg and Judd Apatow both have music-related films in the works right now. Eisenberg will be following up his Oscar-winning A Real Pain with an untitled musical comedy for A24, in which he’ll also star alongside Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti. Meanwhile, Universal is fast-tracking Apatow’s comedy, which he’s writing with Glen Powell. Powell will also star in the film, which is about a country music star whose career is floundering.

Runnner, the indie-folk project of Noah Weinman, has had an incredibly prolific run recently. He dropped two LPs last year, Starsdust and Dust 2, before a string of singles including “Untitled October Song,” “Coinstar,” and “Spackle.” Today he’s back with another good one called “Chamomile.”“Chamomile” is maybe the most amped-up song Runnner has put out yet. It’s upbeat with a massive, sweeping chorus and some brilliantly-utilized pedal steel.

Ken Calvert doesn’t seem like a very good guy. He’s a Southern California Republican congressman who signed onto the lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential election, who voted against expanding federal hate crime laws, and who supported the overturning of Roe V. He shared his thoughts on a recent episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, saying he thought Spears — along with other artists who’ve sampled him — “butchered” it.

Last year, the ever-busy Sarah Tudzin released Power, the latest LP from her punky indie rock project Illuminati Hotties. She’s already following it up with the just-announced EP Nickel On The Fountain Floor, out in May. Along with last month’s single “777,” it also features today’s new one “Wreck My Life,” a duet with PUP frontman (and occasional tourmate) Stefan Babcock. “Wreck My Life” is a guitar-heavy anthem that, like most good Illuminati Hotties tunes, comes with a healthy dose of snark.
