1 Introduction Adolescence is a period of transition to competence characterized by physical differentiation, emotional development, behavioral changes, and mental transformations. Loneliness is a feeling that can be overcome as a result of the individual's trust in others and contact with those to whom he/she feels socially connected (Nowland et al. 2018). Loneliness is experienced at all stages of life, but it is particularly prevalent during adolescence.
