LEGO has unveiled a whole host of sets coming out on May 1st for this year’s Star Wars Day celebrations. It’s no secret that people love LEGO Star Wars. We are pretty big fans of it here. Over the years they have made some very cool sets, and each year they try to top them. This year LEGO has just previewed a fleet of new sets coming out for May 4th, commonly known as Star Wars day (the sets actually come out on May 1st). Let’s speculate about how beefy or thin Warhammer: the Old World’s Grand Cathay release is going to be. The other week GW dropped a pretty big bombshell for The Old World. Grand Cathay, the first new army in 20 years, is coming to the game. Now I’ll admit that I was slightly skeptical about Cathay coming, at least right now, when the first hints dropped back in January. Clearly that was wrong and we are getting the army.

Control of how Warhammer: The Old World is played and its rules are slipping away from GW. Here’s what’s up. The Old World is a little more than a year old at this point. It’s a great game with a growing player base. It’s also got a very vibrant competitive scene with more and more events being run around the world. The does however have flaws. Now, of course, all games have flaws. This isn’t unique to The Old World, and in general they don’t prevent players from playing the game.

Playing it can be hard, and winning can be harder. While it all starts with building your army, ultimately, the tactics you use will be the major deciding factor (barring some really out there luck!).

Warhammer The Old World is a complex game that we are all trying to learn, here’s a few rules people often have questions on. It’s been over a year since Warhammer the Old World officially launched. The game has been a solid success with tons of people getting in to it and events popping up all over the place. Even a year in I still see a lot of the same common questions coming up again and again. The game is constantly gaining new/old players. These are things people still question or get wrong.

Take a look at some basic infantry units from Warhammer: The Old World you might actually want to take. We’ve all had our hands on The Old World for over a year. The game is starting to shake out. The truth is as things are shaking out infantry, and in particular, Core basic infantry are kind of on the bottom of the pile. Most people don’t think they are any good, without some kind of trick. Now, this is a little sad. Warhammer: The Old World is a rank-and-flank game.

Warhammer: The Old World needs more heroic units and Regiments of Renown. Here’s how GW should do them. The Old World has done a great job of bringing back some classic ideas and units from older editions of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The War Wagon is a great example of this. The Arcane Journals add a lot to the game in form of alternate and new units and armies. But one thing the game hasn’t really delved into deeply is the idea of Regiments of Renown.
