The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra turned four in January 2025. They launched back in 2021 running Android 11 and One UI 3 with a promise of four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates. This year, the three phones will receive the last of the four promised upgrades: One UI 7, which is based on Android 15. One UI 7 started rolling out to newer flagships in early April, but when is it coming to the S21 series?

While the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra hogged all the limelight when Samsung paused the official One UI 7 rollout, they weren't the only devices affected. The original update was also taken off the air for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold SE. Samsung resumed the rollout for the Galaxy S24 lineup on April 17, and it turns out that it has also done the same for the Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE.

Samsung has resumed the rollout of the One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 series today. Samsung paused the rollout a few days back owing to issues discovered in the initial firmware, so it is now rolling out a newer firmware that hopefully has no problems. The update is live in Samsung's home country and should start making its way to other markets soon. It can be identified by the build number S928NKSU4BYD9.

The Galaxy S23 series may not receive the One UI 7 update by April 22 after all. Earlier this week, Canadian carrier Telus listed that date for the rollout of the update to the 2023 flagship lineup and got a lot of people excited, but it has now scrubbed that info from its website. Should we be surprised? Not really. At this point, not seeing One UI 7 get delayed over and over would be the real surprise.
