DNS is something you rarely think about or change in your internet connection. I was naive, too, and thought that merely changing it on my Windows PC would boost my connection. Two years ago, I was staring at a $10,000 credit card bill, working a soul-crushing retail job, and dreaming of a way out. I’d always loved writing but thought it was a hobby, not a career. Then I stumbled across online platforms like Medium, where everyday people were earning real money by sharing their stories. Windows 10’s demise is pretty obvious at this point, and even if you wish Microsoft to keep it alive, it’s time to move on. We hate to start a topic on a sad note, but Windows 10 seems to strike a chord every time.

To turn off Recall in Windows 11, you need to disable a Group Policy called “Allow Recall to be enabled” and restart your PC. In the case of Windows 11 Home, you need to create a Registry value called “AllowRecallEnablement” and save the changes, then reboot the system to remove the Recall AI feature completely. Backups help you preserve your data when the main machine encounters a problem, and Windows 11 has multiple tools to help you do that in some form (on-device, external, or cloud). I used Macrium Reflect, a fantastic tool that met most of my needs, but it ended the free tier completely and lacked some trivial backup elements, forcing me to look for options. Windows 11 slapped a fresh coat of paint on its cloud backup solution and introduced the Windows Backup app.
