Paddleboarding is an incredible way to immerse yourself in nature and explore Britain's waterways, whether rivers, canals, lakes, estuaries or the more than 7,700 miles of coastline. Seeing our countryside from the water gives a whole different perspective, says Joanna Moseley, author of Stand Up Paddleboarding in Great Britain. "We are so lucky to have a huge variety of beautiful places and bodies of water to paddle on, and access to all the joy, community and health benefits of blue spaces".

Dear Abigail,I live in California and have dual UK-US nationality, as do my three teenagers. Me and my husband (who has dual Canadian-US citizenship) have been planning a month-long trip to see family in England for the first time since 2019. Our UK passports expired in 2017, so we booked the flights - and planned to travel - using our US passports (as required under US law).

The health benefits of being near water, so-called “blue spaces”, are profound. From the noise, smell and even the light reflecting on the surface, water – whether fresh or sea – has been proven to help relax and revive us. In the past decade, the popularity of paddle boarding as a way to enjoy our coasts and inland waterways has risen exponentially. It is a gentle and accessible activity for all ages that requires minimal investment.

Anyone with dual nationality with the UK / another country been caught by new ETA rules that mean if your passport is out of date you can't come in the UK unless you provide false info on the ETA form or pay £589 for an 'entitlement to travel'? Researching for a newspaper story

I dealt with my fair share of near-fatal incidents on the water during my time living by the sea, so I was delighted when @TelegraphTravel asked me to write about paddleboarding safely. Big thanks to all involved @RedPaddleCo @Bsupa_uk @PaddleUK https://t.co/E53rqvM2FR
