    In his eighth and final State of the City address, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh painted a picture of resurgence and hope. Walsh delivered his address inside Grant Middle School on the Northside of Syracuse completing his goal to deliver the address in each city quadrant. The theme for this year: "the sky is the limit." Walsh said this address gave him an opportunity to reflect on the progress of his administration. "This year is a little different because I'm not going to be mayor a year from now.

    Some Cayuga County municipalities and environmental groups are filing a second lawsuit against the state Department of Health over the rules and regulations of Owasco Lake. When Auburn Mayor Jimmy Giannettino was campaigning for his position in 2023, he says the biggest concern he noted from residents was over access to safe drinking water. "The number one issue that people wanted to talk to me about on doors, and I knocked on over 4,000 doors, was drinking water," Giannetino said.

    Watertown lawmakers are passing new laws to address property storage and camping on city property. A 4-1 vote passed two local laws in Monday's council meeting, although there was some debate over what the laws are aimed at. Watertown Mayor Sarah Pierce and city councilors listened as a handful of residents spoke during a public hearing prior to the vote.
