INTRODUCTION The examination of neural correlates of face processing provides important insight into a component of social communication that is impacted in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) (Batty et al., 2011; Hileman et al., 2011; Mason et al., 2022a, b; McPartland et al., 2004; Webb et al., 2006). Event-related potential (ERP) components associated with face processing may prove to be a valuable biomarker for ASD (McPartland et al., 2020).
