Cllr George Farquhar was delighted to receive a portrait of himself created by Dhanraz Ramdharry, a local artist. The painting also pays homage to one of George’s charities, Every Paw Matters, in Bournemouth. George said: “I first met the artist Dhanraz Ramdharry at my first mayoral engagement with Billy, my rescue greyhound.

BCP Council has submitted a licensing application to sell alcohol at two of its kiosks. Fisherman’s Walk Kiosk and Manor Steps Kiosk in Bournemouth have had applications submitted to sell alcohol until 7.30pm. The application proposes the alcohol is sold from 9.30am until 7.30pm Monday to Friday. However, there are conditions to ensure that Bournemouth remains a safe location to consume alcoholic beverages.

A rare 1965 Beatles advertising poster for their album Help! has been donated to the Dorset Blind Association and is expected to fetch £1,000 at a specialist auction hosted by Charterhouse in Sherborne.
