The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reminding companies who registered with the agency solely to manufacture hand sanitizer during the COVID-19 public health emergency that they are subject to fiscal year (FY) 2025 OMUFA facility fees, unless they delist and deregister before 12 a.m. EST on Dec. 31, 2024, if they no longer manufacture hand sanitizer.

The American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA) joins the New York Distillers Guild in applauding Governor Kathy Hochul for signing Senate bill 2852-A, which makes New York the latest state to allow certain distilled spirits manufacturers to ship their products via direct-to-consumer (DtC) shipping. S.2852A/A.3132A makes New York the ninth state and district to pass DtC legislation for small distillers. New York state follows ND, NE, AZ, DC, KY, RI, NH, and VT.

To help celebrate the best in craft spirits labels and packaging, the American Craft Spirits Association and CRAFT SPIRITS magazine are proud to present the Craft Spirits Packaging Awards. The fourth annual competition, which celebrates excellence and creativity in the design of craft spirits labels and packaging, drew 110 entries from 81 companies. The awards were announced on Feb. 27 at ACSA’s 11th Annual Distillers’ Convention and Vendor Trade Show in Denver.

This month, the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) published an industry circular on single taxpayer rules for certain Craft Beverage Modernization Act (CBMA) benefits. TTB originally issued this industry circular in 2018 to respond to questions received regarding the application of the “single taxpayer” rules of CBMA provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (Public Law 115-97) (“the 2017 Act”).
