While Auburn basketball was fighting South Carolina to retain its undefeated status in SEC play, Auburn football got some good news on the recruiting trail as Devin Carter committed to the Tigers. Carter, who announced his commitment during the Navy All-American game in San Antonio, is a wide receiver in the 2026 class. The Douglas County (Georgia) High School product is a consensus four-star, with ESPN, On3 and Rivals all considering him a top-100 player nationally.

Facing a deficit at the half against South Carolina, Auburn basketball will be without its biggest star for the remainder of the game. All-American Johni Broome left the game at the 13:45 mark of the second half after appearing to roll his left ankle while going for a rebound. He left the court with the help from two team trainers and put no weight on his left foot, and a program spokesperson tells the Montgomery Advertiser he won't return for the contest.
