Lucet, a technology-enabled behavioral healthcare company, disclosed Tuesday its acquisition of Emcara Health, a value-based medical group that specializes in home care services for complex populations. The Department of Health and Human Services is considering a relaunch of its Competitive Bidding Program for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS CBP), which was put on hold twice in recent years. HHS’ budget request for fiscal year 2026 included $22 million to support the program’s restart. A pause was placed on the program in 2024 following the expiration of competitive bidding contracts on products such as back and knee braces or ventilator systems.
