Just so happy that the spirit of football has been preserved and that six centimetres remains, as it always has been, the traditional point of being acceptably offside

Interestingly, the Premier League is the only competition to introduce semi-automated offside and keep the "tolerance level" of 5cm, to give the striker the benefit of the doubt. This is probably why the animation doesn't move directly in line, as you'd see a marginal offside.
