    Maintaining mobility is important through all stages of life but becomes particularly poignant as we age. Simply put, mobility is ‘the ability to move freely and easily’. With small, manageable exercises done regularly over a long period you can develop and maintain the ability to move the way you need to, to do the things you love and continue to live an independent life in your 70s, 80s and beyond. Staying independent is vital at any age for both our mental and physical wellbeing.

    Gov. Ron DeSantis usually fills vacancies on the circuit courts of Florida pretty quickly. Just look at the appointments he’s made so far in 2023. But there’s something different about the vacancy caused by the March 15 death of Kevin Carroll, a judge on the Second Judicial Circuit in Tallahassee – a vacancy that hasn’t been filled yet. Out of the 20 circuit courts in our state, the Second Circuit is particularly important. Our state capital is in one of its counties, Leon.

    On June 22, the Supreme Court of Florida rejected suspended Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren’s request to be reinstated because, the court found, he waited too long to ask. The decision has come under harsh criticism, including from the editorial board of this paper. The board has kindly allowed me to offer this defense of the decision. To start, I do believe that Gov. Ron DeSantis abused his constitutional authority when he suspended Warren.
