SUNRISE — South Florida has been the heart of the hockey world in recent years. The Panthers hosted the 2023 All-Star Game and went to the Stanley Cup Final in back-to-back years, winning their first title last year. Next year, Florida will host the Winter Classic, bringing outdoor hockey to LoanDepot Park. It is easy to forget that less than 10 years ago, Florida consistently ranked near the bottom of the NHL in attendance.
