FIRST TEAMTony Bieber, IF, Palm Beach Gardens junior: Bieber, a junior infielder, had a breakout season. He notched a .442 batting average with three home runs and 15 extra-base hits. Bieber had a 1.299 OPS. Lucas Bratten, OF, Wellington junior: Bratten finished the year second on the Wolverines with a .368 batting average and had a .964 OPS. Bratten also pitched 13 2/3 innings and had a 2.56 ERA.

Jhon Abreu did not take batting practice once this season. Although the Wellington senior was pulling double-duty, pitching and hitting, he spent his practice time working on pitching. “I did not practice hitting at all because I’m going to college to pitch,” Abreu said. “I just worked on pitching. Hitting just, I guess, came naturally.”Abreu did not need to take any batting practice.

Jordan Rich opted to stop playing football for American Heritage’s decorated program so he could focus on baseball.
