Comedian and television host Chelsea Handler will be the comedy headliner for this year's ESL Rochester Fringe Festival. Festival organizers say Handler will perform at the Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 13. “I thought I’d round out this year with a few new shows considering our country needs a large dose of laughter and medicine right now,” she said in a statement. Handler is known for hosting the late-night talk shows "Chelsea Lately" and "Chelsea" and has authored seven books.

Three New York State Department of Transportation workers were struck in an active work zone in Steuben County Wednesday, according to police. New York State Police say officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at around 11:13 a.m. on State Route 36 southbound at County Route 70A in the town of Hornellsville. According to police, a preliminary investigation determined a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder traveling southbound struck the workers and then collided with a stationed DOT vehicle.

A travel advisory continues in the towns of Canisteo, Cameron, Bath, Urbana, Pulteney and Wayne on Tuesday. That was downgraded from Monday night's state of emergency. Steuben County declared a state of emergency Monday evening for multiple towns due to excessive rainfall and multiple road closures. According to county Director of Public Safety Timothy Marshall, the towns of Canisteo, Cameron, Bath, Urbana, Pulteney and Wayne are impacted by the declaration and residents are being urged to only travel in case of an emergency.
