According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle, leading to a free-air sniff around the vehicle from police K9 Drax. During the open-air sniff check, police said their K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — An Oregon man was arrested on Wednesday following an extensive investigation into the abuse of a baby. According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, a six-week-old child was admitted to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding, Calif., on December 26, 2024, for difficulty breathing. Medical personnel discovered the infant had sustained multiple serious injuries, fractured ribs, a fractured tibia, and intracranial bleeding.
