As the 2025 legislative session begins and lawmakers start introducing bills, Governor Gavin Newsom has set the stage with his proposed $322 billion budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year. While this marks the first step in a process that will most likely see multiple adjustments before the June 15 deadline, Newsom’s initial proposal reflects optimism with a return to a balanced budget after two years of deficits.

Election day has come and gone, but with many ballots still unprocessed, the final results in some races remain uncertain. Here’s what we know so far about the outcomes in our community. In most of the city council races, incumbents managed to retain their seats, though a few new faces are set to join. Menifee will welcome Lesa Sobek as the new Mayor after Bill Zimmerman reached his term limit.

Welcome to another edition of the REALTOR® Report! This is the busy time of year when I join thousands of REALTORS® as we gather for our Legislative Meetings in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., to advocate for housing-related issues and private property rights. Last week, more than 2,400 REALTORS® were in Sacramento for our legislative conference and business meetings and to meet with State legislators. Our voices united as we all met with the same three hot issues.

On March 15, 2024, the National Association of REALTORS® reached a proposed settlement that would end litigation of claims related to commissions.
