SALT LAKE CITY — Police have made an arrest in two decades-old sexual assault and kidnapping cases that happened in Ogden. Ogden police arrested Jerald Leroy McAdams, a convicted sex offender, in connection with two separate assaults and kidnappings that happened in 1994 and 1997. Investigators told KSL that McAdams was recently extradited from Washington State, where he had been living, to Utah and is now in custody at the Weber County Jail.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Department of Justice said Utah State University has taken some of the necessary steps to address yearslong Title IX concerns on its campus. Getting to Title IX compliance is something the university has been working to address for more than five years. The DOJ entered into a settlement with the university in 2020 after it found system-wide failures in how the school handled reports of sexual assault.

SALT LAKE CITY– Opponents of what’s known as Utah’s new “union bill” have until Tuesday to submit more than 140,000 signatures needed to place a referendum on the November ballot. House Bill 267 outlaws collective bargaining for Utah’s public sector employees, including teachers, police and firefighters. The bill faced significant public opposition, but was still signed into law by Gov. Spencer Cox.
