An Inspector of Police, Stephen Enang, slumped and died shortly after watching Arsenal’s emphatic 3–0 win over Spanish giants Real Madrid on Tuesday night in Calabar. The late Enang, a native of Ekori in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, was attached to the Akim Police Division along IBB Way. Known among friends for his soft-spoken nature and deep passion for Arsenal, Enang was said to be in high spirits throughout the game.

Protesters have taken to the streets of Abuja and Lagos despite repeated warnings from the police. The demonstrations, organised by the Take It Back Movement, are underway in several parts of the country. In Abuja, activist and movement leader Omoyele Sowore was joined by Deji Adeyanju, a human rights lawyer, as they led demonstrators in defiance of police efforts to disperse them. In Lagos, a group of protesters was seen with placards in Ikeja, the state capital, continuing their march.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has emerged as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State. Soludo was the sole aspirant at the APGA governorship primary on Saturday at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Uche Nwegbo, stated:“Total delegates for this election is 3,260; 3,175 were accredited; 3,172 total votes cast, with four invalid votes. The governor received 3,168 yes-votes and no no-votes.
