Nissan has announced it will launch affordable onboard bi-directional charging on selected electric vehicles from 2026. The Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology enables EV owners to use electricity stored in their car’s battery to power their homes or sell it back into the grid. It will initially launch in the UK, followed by other markets in Europe. The project is underpinned by Nissan’s experience in V2G, with around 40 pilot projects conducted worldwide throughout the past decade.

Brembo has announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in Öhlins Racing, the manufacturer of premium, high-performance suspension technology for motorcycles and cars in the OE, motorsport and aftermarket segments. At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Xing Mobility will showcase the Immersio cell-to-chassis (CTC) battery prototype, which it says sets a new benchmark by integrating cells directly into the vehicle chassis. By directly integrating the battery cells into the chassis, the Immersio CTC battery increases energy density by over 35%, while reducing vehicle weight and maximizing range.

Fyous will premiere the PolyMorphic 28k at Formnext in Germany in November 2024. The equipment uses densely packed pins to create custom molds in minutes, and consists of the pin tool plus a forming machine into which the pin tool is inserted. A 3D CAD model of the mold to be formed is used to move the pins into position. As a result, the technology can create a mold in 20 minutes.

Select Volkswagen models will now be able to offer the in-car gaming platform AirConsole. The ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer will be the first models to benefit from this integration, starting with IDS 5.0 and 5.2.
