    There’s huge concern about the possible impact on steelmaking here in Wales of tariffs which have been announced by the United States. The tariffs came into effect at midnight in the US, imposing an extra charge of 25% on all steel and aluminium entering America. Welsh Liberal Democrats have urged the UK Government to retaliate by imposing tariffs on imports from the US but ministers in London are holding their fire, despite the European Union introducing its own tariffs.

    The failure of IT systems to communicate between the NHS here and in England is posing “an unacceptable clinical risk,” Welsh MPs have been told. Members of the Welsh Affairs Select Committee have been questioning doctors' and patients' representatives as well as health chiefs from both sides of the border. They were told that around 37,00 Welsh patients are seen in the English NHS each year but the meeting also highlighted a lack of communication.
