The New York Sirens closed out a three game homestand with 3-1 loss against the Ottawa Charge. Protecting the crease for the Sirens was Corinne Schroeder making her fifth start of the season. She came into Sunday’s game with a 3-1 record, 2.51 GAA, and .919 save percentage. On the other end of the ice it was Emerance Maschmeyer for the Charge who was 1-2 in three starts with a 2.49 GAA and .917 save percentage. Ottawa came out of the gates blazing as they fired the shots on Schroeder.

For Minnesota it was Nicole Hensley whose last start was against New York in the season opener.

Both teams come into Sunday’s matchup winning their previous game. The Sirens beat the Toronto Sceptres 4-2 and the Frost beat the Ottawa Charge 5-2. Both teams look to build on this winning momentum in Sunday’s match. The last time these two teams played each other was on December 1 when New York won in an overtime thriller.

Game two of the New York Sirens’ road trip continued Wednesday night as they defeated the Montrèal Victoire 4-1. Unlike their previous game against Minnesota, New York came out strong early. The ice was tilted in favor of the Sirens for this one, as they got two power-play opportunities early on. While New York didn’t capitalize on either opportunity, it did help them to build momentum to get on the scoreboard first.

The New York Sirens continue their road trip as they travel to Place Bell to face off against the Montréal Victoire Wednesday night. Both teams come into Wednesday’s matchup winning their season openers. For New York, there were many bright spots in its 4-3 overtime victory over Minnesota Sunday evening that will look to shine bright against Montréal.
