Whenever the name of famed fantasy author George R.R. Martin comes up, there are really only two things people think of. The first would be the expansive world he created which eventually became the mega-hit known as the Game of Thrones franchise. What’s the second thing, you ask? Well, it’s how Martin still hasn’t actually finished writing his A Song of Ice and Fire tale that inspired that series, which was supposed to see Book 6, The Winds of Winter, be released more than a decade ago.

Celebrities definitely seem like a rare breed of humanity. If for no other reason, this is frequently because, honestly, famous people get to hang out with other famous people. While some celeb hangs like, say, Anyone But You co-stars Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney (who made waves for being spotted at his sister’s wedding), make total sense, sometimes we just don’t see a combo coming.

Such has been the case for A Minecraft Movie, which (despite split critical reviews) has dominated the box office since becoming part of the 2025 movie releases on April 4.
