Quantitative reverse-transcription PCRSnap-frozen frontal cortices were thawed and homogenized with a 27G needle in lysis buffer provided in the PureLink RNA Mini Kit (Invitrogen, 12183018A) with 1% β-mercaptoethanol (Sigma, M3148). RNA was isolated with the PureLink RNA Mini Kit, and the remaining DNA was removed by incubation with RNase-free DNase (Qiagen, 79254). Purified mRNA was then converted to cDNA with the SuperScript IV VILO Master Mix (Invitrogen, 11756050).
