The study was conducted on two sow farms. Farm A consisted of a 900-sow farrow-to-nursery Iberian production system combining outdoor and indoor conditions, whereas Farm B comprised 1,800-sows in a farrow-to-wean intensive conventional system with Large White-Landrace genetics. Both farms were in Spain’s central area, with an industry standard biosecurity program in place certified by the herd veterinarian.
